TID invests in the development of a number of innovative projects that range from diversified ways of generating power to the introduction of more intuitive meters. These projects are key to TID's goal of providing safe, affordable and dependable energy to its customers.

Almond 2 Power Plant

The construction of the Almond 2 Power Plant will add 174 megawatts of generation and enhance the District's internal generation.

SMART Meters

TID has started replacing existing retail electric meters with new meters designed to provide a range of customer benefits while increasing operational efficiencies at TID.

Hughson-Grayson Transmission & Substation

TID is constructing a new, double-circuit 115-kV transmission line and Substation.

Red Mountain Bar Pumped Storage

TID and its Modesto Irrigation District partners believe Red Mountain Bar has excellent potential and are continuing to assess when regulatory and market conditions are favorable to move forward with this large, important project.
