Pool Pass Program 2012

Because TID wants to continue to develop an overall awareness that canals are not for swimming and rivers can also be dangerous, the District proudly administered its annual Pool Pass Program again in the spring and summer of 2012. TID partnered with the region's community pools to help provide children and teens a safe place to swim and cool off while they are out on summer break.

All told, 4,000 passes were distributed during the 2012 Pool Pass Program. TID anticipates another solid year of the program in 2013.

Safety Awards

TID garnered national recognition in 2011, when it took home an Outstanding Stewards of America’s Waters Award from the National Hydropower Association for its work in creating the “Dexter Duck’s Swim Safe Safety Tips” animated water safety video. Also in 2011, the video earned two Telly Awards for film production in the categories "Productions for Safety" and "Segments for Children".
