Water
Established in 1887, The Turlock Irrigation District (TID) is the first irrigation district in California. It began delivering irrigation water to farmers in 1900. Today, it serves over 5,800 farmers in a 307 square-mile service area. The Tuolumne River, the source of the District's irrigation water originates high in the Sierra Nevada on Mt. Lyell in Yosemite National Park. TID is the majority owner and operator of the Don Pedro Reservoir. TID is the owner and operator of Turlock Lake.
