Before You Start
Contact us early in the design process of your project so we can provide information on the best location for electric panels, facilities available to you, requirements and fees. As your project progresses, we can provide you with specific designs for the electric service facilities, the exact amount of any fees required, and information to assist in acquiring and installing electric service equipment.
At least two days prior to starting any project requiring soil excavation, including trenching and landscaping, contact the Underground Service Alert, known as USA North, at (800) 227-2600. USA North will contact all utilities in your area of work, and each utility will mark locations of their facilities for you. USA North will need the location of the proposed construction project, including address, distance from closest cross-street, and distance from the street, a project description and construction contact information.
Before you begin a construction project, we advise you to coordinate your project with other utilities, such as phone, natural gas, cable TV, and so on, that may serve you or may have facilities in the area.
