Benefits with the Turlock Irrigation District

Some benefits offered through the Turlock Irrigation District include:

Holidays: 11 paid holidays per year.

Sick Leave: 12 sick leave days per year with unlimited accumulation beginning the seventh month of employment.

Vacation: Vacation starts with two weeks per year after the first six months and increases with seniority.

Health Plan: The District provides self-funded group medical, prescription, dental and vision plans for active, full-time regular employees. There are minimal employee contributions and co-pays.

Life Insurance: Life insurance is provided by the District. Coverage amount is two times the employee's annual base salary up to a maximum of $200,000.

Long-Term Disability: A long-term disability policy is provided by the District. The benefit may reimburse up to 66.66% of base monthly salary.

Deferred Compensation: Deferred compensation is available on a voluntary basis to District employees. Contributions are made before taxes through payroll deductions.

Workers' Compensation: The District provides Workers' Compensation coverage for on-the-job injuries. Coverage is self-funded by the District.

Social Security: All employees are required to contribute to Social Security. The District matches contributions. Benefits are provided for employees and their families for retirement and/or disability.

Retirement Benefits: The District provides retirement benefits with a small contribution by employees. The plan is a defined benefit plan. Benefits are based on age, years of service, and average monthly base salary. Employees who meet the eligibility requirements may retire as early as age 55.

Educational Assistance: Financial assistance is provided to active regular District employees for occupational-related courses at accredited educational institutions.

Flexible Spending Account: Employees can voluntarily participate in the District’s Flexible Spending Account program. Contributions are made before taxes through payroll deductions.
